A digital menu for Restaurante Don Chaker
Don Chaker is a pharmacy-market and café with a very large menu, from empanadas and arepas to Middle Eastern food and coffee. I built its digital menu with 15 categories, dish search and a deals section, so customers can find what they want on their phone in seconds.
The challenge
A menu with many dishes works well on paper, because you can flip through it. On a phone it’s different: if everything is in one long list, customers have to scroll for a long time to find a dish. The menu had to be complete without becoming hard to navigate.
The solution
- 15 categories to go straight to what matters: deals, empanadas, arepas, breakfast plates, chicken, red meat, fish, pasta, burgers, Middle Eastern food, sandwiches and delis, salads, snacks, coffee, and cold drinks and infusions.
- Dish search that shows a clear message when nothing is found, instead of an empty screen.
- Deals at the top, so what the business wants to sell first is the first thing people see.
- Useful descriptions, with ingredients and portion sizes (for example, the 150 g shawarma with fresh vegetables and sauces).
- Visible reference prices on every dish.
Why it works
Customers don’t have to download anything: they scan the QR code or open the link and they’re in the menu. And because the menu lives on a web page, changing a price or adding a dish doesn’t mean reprinting anything.
If you run a restaurant, café or food spot, the QR digital menu page explains how I work and what’s included.
